UnB develops substance for plants to produce more and resist drought.
Researchers from the University of Brasilia(UnB) have developed a substance that helps plants produce more and resist drought. The substance is a tiny particle, invisible to the naked eye, which, diluted in water, forms a stimulant for the plant: arboline, which the researchers have been studying for seven years in nanotechnology laboratories.
"We already have a commercial product that maintains the same properties. It is a biodegradable product, does not accumulate in the ecosystem and is totally compatible with living beings", explains UnB doctorate student Rogério Gomes Faria.
